Newcastle University came to us searching for a different look to their graduation ceremony brochures.
In a bid to ensure these brochures stood out, and unsure of how their designs would look once printed, we were tasked with the job of providing samples with foil on the cover instead of simply foiling a solid print area. In addition, the inset pages required stock dummies as they were mixed between uncoated and silk sections, so we quickly began our work on getting samples together to meet their deadline.
We were able to produce print test sheets for the uncoated inset section in order to check whether the spot grey pantone colour wording would stand out enough with the image in the background. Once the samples were approved, we had a strict plan to work to as the delivery date was set and we couldn’t risk the brochures not arriving in time for this special day.
We would receive the artwork for the cover and full colour silk section first so this could be produced and left flat ready to finish, the uncoated text section was the challenge as this had the students’ names and dates on and wouldn’t follow until just a few days before delivery as this information was set to change at the last minute, fortunately, upon receiving the final information we were efficient in our execution and insured all the brochures were ready to an exceptional quality.
"Statex were really helpful and went above and beyond to produce an outstanding graduation ceremony brochure that our students and their families will keep for ever. Their customer service was second to none and we look forward to working with them again".
