AkzoNobel have worked directly with Statex for over 20 years, the majority of which have included the annual bespoke Boat Painting Guides for the Yacht industry. This is a complex and global project designed in numerous different languages, produced to the highest standard not only from a high-quality print viewpoint but also to ensure the colours contained match physical paint products.
A bespoke colour matching system was designed around the project with the ultimate aim to create a colour card whereby the paint produced for the yachting industry by AkzoNobel’s International® brand had to be reproduced in print form. To further enhance the final product, we also designed specific techniques to mimic the touch and feel of the paint when applied to the various surfaces of the yachts, requiring high gloss, semi-gloss, matt as well as textured finishes. The brief from the client also required Statex to manage global logistics, ensuring that the various clients in various continents received their products on time, every time.
We have always worked closely with the many businesses of AkzoNobel around the globe, for production through to marketing to ensure the finished guides not only met, but exceeded their expectations, doing so year on year. R&D is applied to this project on a regular basis, with the aim of pushing the boundaries of colour to enhance colour reproduction and accuracy, whilst remaining cost-effective and on budget for our client.
